My friend Kristi, who has a teenage son and an adult daughter with celiac disease, tipped me off to Café Formaggio on Long Island and to Chiarelli's, which sells the Communion wafers (I don't think they make them). But ultimately the credit goes to my friend Hilary for making me conscious of--and sensitive to--the gluten-free world. I'm consistently amazed by how widespread the celiac network is and how eager everyone is to share information and increase awareness.
